team Operations Manager and Board Liaison

Wenche Lier

Being part of the Stupski Foundation allows me to continue my passion for helping those in need. I love the phrase, “Become aware and start to care,” and hope to continue to learn from both the community and those I work with.

Wenche M. Lier is the Operations Manager and Board Liaison at the Stupski Foundation. In her role, she focuses on board and staff engagement and oversees office operations. She joined the Foundation as Executive Assistant in 2019 – a role that gave her the opportunity to work closely with the Foundation’s executive leadership, get to know the Foundation’s grantee partners, and provide administrative support to each grantmaking program.

Wenche brings a diverse skill set in organizational management and logistics to the Stupski Foundation. As part of her long career in the nonprofit world, Wenche spent several years working for a Bay Area foundation, the Stover Foundation, as an executive assistant and controller. Wenche is passionate about supporting those in need however she can.  She has traveled extensively in Southeast Asia, where she worked alongside survivors of human trafficking and children living in slums.

Wenche has served on several boards with her church and local nonprofits including: Task Force Leader, Justice & Compassion Board in Walnut Creek, Feed My Sheep Center in Myanmar, Feet First Foundation in Martinez, Norway Day Festival in San Francisco, and the Young Scandinavians Club in San Francisco. As a lifelong singer and lover of music, she is grateful to have had the chance to sing and speak in prisons in Angola, Louisiana, and San Quentin, California.

In her free time, she enjoys singing, going to the gym, and exploring the outdoors. She is currently writing a book about her travels and life experiences. Wenche is a native Norwegian and visits her family in Norway as often as she can.
