Stay Strong, Bay Area
Federal forces have arrived in the Bay Area—and we don’t need them here.
The administration’s decision to deploy more than 100 federal agents to target immigrants is unnecessary and wrong. This excessive show of force seeks to sow fear, divide our communities, and undermine the values that make the San Francisco Bay Area the place we call home. It’s also part of a broader campaign—using force as a pretext to escalate federal control, rather than supporting the needs of local communities.
Federal force has no place here.
As Mayor Lurie made clear, “Sending the military will not help our city or our country.”
Bay Area residents are not the property of federal agents or the president. We belong to each other. We stand for our people across differences, knowing that our solidarity makes us stronger.
At the Stupski Foundation, we love the Bay to our core. We live, work, and raise our families here. We are deeply proud of the diversity, acceptance, creativity, and unity that have long defined the spirit of our city. Above all, we are grateful for our dedicated nonprofit partners who improve the lives of people across the Bay Area every day.
Community over federal control.
As the administration simultaneously wastes public resources to deploy forces to cities across America and seeks to slash healthcare subsidies and food assistance programs, it is clear that they are not interested in serving our communities. Imagine how these resources could be used to improve access to health care, cultivate local food systems, or make higher education affordable for all. These efforts would strengthen our country instead of tearing it apart.
In the San Francisco Bay Area, we choose love and community over federal control. We will hold strong against attempts to divide us or drive our immigrant neighbors out.
Bay Area, we love you. And we stand with you.
