Jim’s career of over forty years in corporate management and board leadership led him to establish the Jackson Hole Group in 2002. The focus of the firm is on boards, CEOs, Executive Directors, and C-Suite executives, providing industry expertise as leaders navigate key business issues and events. His prior operating experience, organizational expertise, and governance expertise are particularly helpful to client companies and boards.
Before founding Jackson Hole Group, Jim held several prominent senior executive positions. As Executive Vice President for the Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) Retail Group, Jim provided leadership and counsel to each of the ten operating companies within LVMH. He also advised the non-retail organizations of LVMH including the LVMH/DeBeers collaboration (jewelry), Phillips dePury & Luxembourg (auction house), Europatweb (eCommerce investments) and Groupe Arnault (investments).
Prior to his roles with LVMH/DFS, Jim headed the Human Resource function for The Charles Schwab Corporation.
Jim has served on several nonprofit boards including as Chair of the Oakland Public Education Fund and Envision Education, and as Board Director for the Richmond Ermet Foundation and Under One Roof. He has also held leadership positions across several professional associations as Founder and Chair of the Board of Directors for the California Strategic Human Resource Partnership and Chair for the International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruiters.
Jim is a native Californian and grew up in Red Bluff. He is a veteran, having served with the 902nd Military Intelligence Group in Washington, D.C. He earned his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University.
